Science Teacher (EBD School)

A full-time Science teacher is required for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Islington. The position is due to start in September 2012 and will run till at least the end of the school year.

As a Science teacher at the PRU, you will be required to teach across KS3 & KS4. However it is likely the majority of your time will be with KS3.

The school uses a personalised curriculum structure for each pupil so that learning is specially tailored to their interests and needs. Therefore pupils tend to engage better within the PRU in comparison to when in mainstream settings.

Interviews are likely to be conducted before the end of the term, so please apply if you can clearly demonstrate experience as a Science teacher and are comfortable teaching pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Alternatively, you may be a mainstream Science teacher with strong behaviour management looking for a new challenge.

• You must hold QTS or a UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification
• This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
