SEN Teacher (ASD)

A large Special Needs school in Greenwich is recruiting for a Special Needs teacher for a Key Stage 2 Autism class. This is a full time role starting in September until July 2013.

The school has been graded outstanding by OFSTED and provides a relaxed and supportive environment to work in.

The ideal person will have experience with ASD either in a mainstream or SEN setting. You will be teaching a new Key Stage 2 class and it will be your job to manage a smooth transition for students and also facilitate learning increasing the academic levels they are currently working at. There are varied abilities in the class and some students are non verbal so experience with sensory learning, Picture Exchange Communication (PECs) and Makaton are a must. It would be advantageous to be team teach trained.

• You must have the legal right to work in the UK
• You must hold QTS or a UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification
• This position is subject to an Enhanced CRB Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
