As a Case Manager with El Barrio Workforce Development, you will help people gain and retain employment throughout Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.


Job Summary:

Conducts interviews with clients to assess barriers to employment. Guides clients and makes referrals to other WSEM programs and outside agencies for supportive services such as clothing, transportation, and child care. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with Employment and Family Services caseworkers and communicates with them on a daily basis via phone, e-mail and the database system, as well as with any other representatives of agencies with which El Barrio has a working relationship

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

   »

Assessing issues challenging client success and making recommendations for improvement
   » Sensitivity awareness to the issues of the disadvantage and providing guidance and encouragement in the program
   » Creating a data based client portfolio in accordance with the programs
   » Assisting client with resume preparation and referral information
   » Providing translation services
   » Collaborates with other staff to complete intake packets with clients, and ensures that enrollment forms are properly completed.
   » Complete and update Individual Service Schedules
   » Updates and maintains client files.
   » Responsible for attendance and case note reporting through all of the database management systems used for Case Management and client tracking
   » Developing an enhanced relationship with the client
   » Providing client post placement
   » Assisting clients with retention issues
   » Responds to inquiries regarding WSEM and El Barrio
   » Providing emergency assistance and referral to other programs or agencies as needed
   » Compiles data and provides statistical information to administration
   » Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned
   » Requires travel to other facilities and meetings. May require availability for evening hours to meet with English as a Second Language clientele or other cases depending on the needs of WSEM and its clients
Job Qualifications:
   »

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
   » Bilingual
   » Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills are necessary.
   » Must be comfortable and effective working in a team environment.
   » At least 2 years experience working with adults experiencing difficulty in finding or retaining a job, or in a related social services or education/training role is preferred.
   » Flexibility and openness with clients is important.
   » Good organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and maintain composure under potentially stressful situations is critical.
   » Must be computer literate e.g. (Microsoft software, internet, databases).
