PhD Training in Scientific Instrumentation for Chemical Applications at Imperial College £24k p.a. Equivalent SalaryIn many areas of chemistry and chemical engineering, new scientific instrumentation is the key for process control or optimum product formulation. An interest in instrumentation and their development (eg hardware, software, engineering) would be very advantageous. This project will work on one of the following new instrument systems. High Pressure Adsorption of Gases for Carbon CaptureNano/Micro-mechanical Properties of Complex Porous MaterialsNanoporous Materials and their Surface Chemical CharacterisationThe successful applicant will join a world class research group based in Imperial College (www3.imperial.ac.uk/surfacesandparticleengineeringlab/) Applications are invited from students with an appropriate background in chemistry, chemical engineering physics or electrical engineering with an interest/aptitude for experimental research. Candidates must have received at least a 2:1 in their first degree and be either a UK resident or be European and resident in the UK for 3 years.
