Lead Nurse Based Brixton Job Summary A Prison based in Brixton are looking to employ a Lead Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team. The Prison offers a full range of healthcare services for up to 800 adult males in HMP Brixton including: Primary Care, Learning Disabilities, Drug and Alchohol, Mental Health, Physical Health and Holistic Care

Responsible To
Head of Healthcare

Key Responsibilities
You will provide clinical and professional leadership to all nursing staff and to work in partnership with other health care professionals, ensuring the clinical team works cohesively and effectively to deliver a high standard of patient care. The job also requires the post holder in the absence of the Unit Manager, to act up in this position.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will: • To have responsibility for the delivery of Clinical Patient Services to achieve defined centre, divisional and national targets: including actively monitoring patient satisfaction and the monitoring of patient health outcomes. • To have responsibility in ensuring clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are met. • Prioritise patient care throughout the unit. • Support junior staff with supervision and development. • Set standards for patient care based on best evidenced based practice.(i.e. clinical protocols). • Develop / maintain advanced clinical skills. i.e. x-ray interpretation, suturing, plastering , nurse led services. • Demonstrate the ability to be able to motivate and persuade others through advanced communication skills. • Have experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams an in acute setting, primary setting/ or another related areas

Qualifications
• 1st level Registered Nurse with current registration with the UK Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). • BSc or BA Health Studies or equivalent subject • Teaching and assessing qualification. • Evidence of Continuous Professional development (CPD). • Post registration qualification in autonomous practice or equivalent.
