Skills/Qualifications/Prerequisites

   » Valid Driver's Licence
   » A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be highly regarded but is not essential.
   » Mechanical or Electrical Trade with maintenance experience on large industrial machinery.
   » Experience in the field of Vibration Monitoring.
   » A maintenance and customer support focus
   » Customer driven (both internal and external)
   » Sound PC software knowledge
   » Mature verbal and written communication skills.



Overall Job Description
The Reliability Technician is required to travel to the customer's place of business to record vibration data from both fixed and variable speed machines and return with this to the office where that person will analyse the information and prepare a report. In some instances, the employee will be required to immediately analyse the data on site and report results immediately to the Client.

The specialist is expected to:

   » Manage and co-ordinate collection of vibration data, analysis and reporting of results, as well as other condition monitoring services provided to the sites by others.
   » Identify potential machine faults and degeneration.
   » Establish and maintain a working relationship with client engineers.
   » Schedule work so that it optimises instrument usage and effectively uses client time.
   » Maintain an up to date records of client visits, costs, recovery. (timesheets, expense claims, etc).
   » Prepare and submit invoices for the work undertaken.
   » Assist with data and information collation for providing monthly reports on site or contract performance to management and the various clients.
   » Identify ways and methods of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the vibration based condition monitoring service and report such to QA Manager.
   » Maintain workplace in a safe and tidy manner and ensure that work is undertaken in accordance with the safety rules and practices of both the company and the operating site.
   » Provide support to other employees, as appropriate.
   » Collection of oil and grease samples and interpretation of results.
   » Basic failure analysis and reporting of same.
   » Educating clients in the benefits of CM based maintenance strategies.
   » Reliability Engineering consultancy support to our clients.
   » Collection and administration of oil samples, results interpretation and reporting back to client.
   » Maintain equipment and instrumentation in serviceable order and report faults or arrange for equipment repairs as necessary.
