A Teacher of the Deaf is required in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The elected candidate must be experienced in dealing with deaf pupils with SLD and some behaviour problems.

This is for a class of KS3 pupils who follow a formal curriculum and due to the nature of the role, BSL level 2 would be desirable but is not essential.

You will work alongside Teaching Assistants who support students on a 1:1 basis. As this is a Secondary school, you must have a broad knowledge of the secondary national curriculum. Some students can present challenging behaviour, due to their communication so having strong behaviour management skills would also be essential.
