Teacher of the Deaf (BSL 2 Compulsory)

A teacher of the Deaf is required in the London borough of Newham. The elected candidate must be experienced in dealing with deaf youngsters with SLD and some behaviour problems.

This is a varied role and the successful candidate would need to have experience of whole class as well as small group teaching of deaf children and be prepared to teach individuals, groups and whole classes across the primary setting. BSL Level 2 is desirable but if enough experience has been gained teaching children with hearing impairments then this may be overlooked if a demonstrated background with deaf children can be shown.

You will work alongside Teaching Assistants who support students on a 1:1 basis. As this is a Primary school, you must have a broad knowledge of the primary national curriculum.
