You can make a difference to the environment

Here’s How:

Taking control of your waste

Hire an Environmentally Approved rubbish clearance agency to safely dispose of waste rather than taking it to the landfill. Licensed and approved agencies will work tirelessly to ensure the majority of waste they collect is recycled as they have a commitment to the environment. Find out more.

Change your driving habits

Rather than using your car to take you everywhere, think about walking if it is a short distance away. Alternatively, take the bus, train, tram or carpool with somebody else. A lot of people also prefer to cycle. Not only will this help the environment, it will be beneficial to your health.

If you rely on your car a little too much, think about purchasing a car that is a hybrid or is electricity charged. Click here to see the best hybrid cars.

Reduce your food waste

Did you know that we throw out over 40% of our food every year? The amount thrown away is enough to feed over 1 million starving people across the world. There are various ways to be more careful about food consumption.

  1. Donate to food kitchens: There are families in need of a meal everyday in the UK. Instead of throwing all that left over food, think about giving it to somebody that is desperate for a warm meal. Find your local food bank and ask what food is accepted. Find yours.
  2. Your leftovers: A lot of people hate the thought of eating leftovers for dinner the next day. However, throwing this food away isn’t very eco-friendly. Begin to get creative in the kitchen and experiment with different dishes using the food you have leftover. See here.
