Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part qualified management accountant to work within the NHS. For this particular post previous NHS/UK experience is not essential so this is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to move into the NHS.

Main Role and Responsibilities of the Part qualified management Accountant includes:
? To prepare regular monthly financial income and expenditure reports to managers? including narratives, nurse in-patient monitoring, variance analysis, progress against savings plans and year end forecasts.
? To attend monthly financial meetings with budget holders to review the accounts, and to liaise with them regularly to update forecasts, provide ad hoc analysis and to discuss financial queries which are often complex and/or sensitive.
? Discuss with budget holders performance against budget which may be contentious.
? Identify the causes of variances and to suggest possible corrective action to budget managers.
? To provide ad hoc financial support, costings and advice to managers, including advice on complex financial and corporate issues to non-financial managers.
? To coordinate own work and the work of more junior staff in the section to prepare the monthly accounts through the maintenance and update of financial systems for the delegated area within set deadlines and to provide support to more senior Management Accountants in the full management accounts role, and including as appropriate:
? Accruals and Prepayments,
? Recharges in and out (where necessary liaising with external organisations),
? Agency Accruals,
? Staff payroll monitoring and coding,
? Coding of non-pay invoices,
? To develop and design spreadsheets/databases for analysing information specific to the relevant area of responsibility and as appropriate the maintenance and development of all the department?'s core systems, especially IT systems
? To attend budget setting meetings and to maintain these budgets on the appropriate financial systems, for the relevant areas and the costing process.

Skills required of the Management accountant include:
? Part qualified CCAB i.e. passed stage 2 ACCA or passed / exempt 9 papers for CIMA, or equivalent of other accountancy bodies.
? Evidence of active and successful studying.
? Desire to qualify as an Accountant.
? Excel ? up to V look ups and pivot tables
? Can do attitude and desire to want to add value to a role
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
