Lead Compounding Operator

PET Processors L.L.C. is a privately held company with expertise in polymer processing, headquartered in Northeast Ohio. Summary:  Work in conjunction with Production and Compounding operators on setup, and maintenance of the compounding lines. Capable of running the trial lines and perform all maintenance on the trial lines. Experience in operating twin screw extruding machines.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate, direct and participate in the setup of the equipment and the efficient changeover of orders. Including rebuilding and changing of screws.
      Run, as needed, production as well as trial needed as dictated by the needs of
      Foster a safe and quality driven work culture.
      Develop and implement a comprehensive training process for the company’s compounding operators. the company.   
      Perform basic maintenance needed to keep the equipment in proper run conditions.
      Maintain records, schedule, and if require, perform all calibration requirements.
      Perform, as needed, lab performance tests.

Experience:
Minimum 5-year experience in the operation, setup and basic maintenance of twin-screw compounding extruders.
 
Understanding of compounding principles, twin-screw design concepts and experience with various Plastic resins, including PET, Nylon, PC, ABS, PP and PE both filled and unfilled.
 
Experience in the operation and calibration of peripheral equipment specially gravimetric feeders
 
Exposure to Quality Systems. Internal auditing experience a plus.
 
Training and supervisory experience helpful.
 
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
 
Basic computer skills with a working understanding of Excel spreadsheets.
