This mixed, 11-19 community comprehensive school in North Hertfordshire is looking to recruit a Teacher of PE from September 2009 on a permanent basis.

The school has around 900 students, including up to 120 in the 6th Form, and it serves the local market town and the surrounding villages. The school is looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Teacher of PE who is committed to the extra curricular activites that the school and department currrently offers.

During the most recent Ofsted, the school was described as a good school with outstanding features, with 65% of students gaining 5+ A-C's I 2008.

In November 2004 the school gained the national Healthy School Award, in September 2005 they became a specialist school in Business and Enterprise, hugely increasing their funding, and in the same year they were selected to be an Extended School providing learning, care and social opportunities for the wider community. In December 2006 they were one of the first schools in Hertfordshire to gain the Connexions Award for the high quality of our Careers Education and Guidance.

The school offers students a wide range of sporting activities, as in addition to their PE lessons there are lunchtime and after school clubs in football, netball, athletics, cricket, rounders and table tennis. The schools teams regularly compete at district, county and sometimes national level.
