A Director of sport is needed at a school sports partnership near Portsmouth starting in September 2009 on a permanent basis.

You need to be a fully qualified PE Teacher who has experience in teaching Physical Education in schools for this Director of Sport role as there will be some teaching involved.

On our "specialist jobs" section on the PE Recruitment website you will see a definition for a Director of Sport - Responsible for the implementation of the Specialist Status Development Plan at a Sports College. The role often brings with it Assistant Head status and a place on the Senior Management Team. Whilst the day to day running of the PE department is overseen by the HoD the DoS role is more strategic, working closely with Senior teachers, the PDM, primary partners and the wider community.

The Partnership are keen to develop their sporting ethos and your will be looking after and organising the sports for ten secondary schools in the area and 40+ primary link schools. The partnership has access to excellent facilities and the hub school that you will be based at have specialist PE classrooms.

Ofsted have rated the school "good" with "outstanding" in many areas. As a Director of sport you will need to continue and build upon this rating to show the school off to its full potential.
