A very popular, smaller than average Foundation School in Lambeth requires an experienced PE specialist for the new academic year in September. The School educates boys from KS3 to KS4, with a co-education 6th Form incorporated on the same campus. The school serves a very wide catchment area stretching as far as Barnet to the north and Bromley to the south. In 2006, the school underwent considerable new building work, adding the new sixth form centre, sports hall and new classrooms. The school was awarded specialist status for sports in September 2003. As a result of this status, Physical Education is a flagship subject at the School, and this role will suit a passionate and committed PE specialist who wants to make an impact in an environment where the subject is given the resources and support it deserves. At the last inspection, Ofsted rated the school as good; 'This is a good, improving and very popular school. Its strong community ethos is rooted in its traditions of orderly behaviour based on courteous, respectful relationships. The main school provides a good standard of education with students making good progress from Year 7 to 11.' This position will involve teaching PE across all year groups. The contract will initially be for one term; however, the School is eager to make this a permanent appointment, so a willingness to make a long-term commitment is essential.
