* Program Manager - Mining Industry. Brisbane Location. International Consulting House. Work with my client's major customer. Very Negotiable Salary Package The Role: My client is looking to appoint in a permanent position a Program Manager to work as the Program Management Office Manager to manage delivery of the PMO across five customer identified programs with expected combined budget of $20m to $30m.

This will embrace:
Managing PMO staff and workloads (numbers approx. 8-12). Deliver Program Management Office services to budget and delivery targets. Provide PMO structure to deliver effective service with program expansion. Manages the PMO function and PMO team to budget and plan in conjunction with customer. Consolidates and reviews program level financials, status, and schedules - produces program level reports and communicates required items with other managers as necessary, specifically the Program Director and VDT. Assists the project teams with planning, reporting and tracking of projects. Oversees risks and issue logs and tracks items through to closure. Facilitates resource planning in conjunction with Demand/Supply Mgr and my client's resourcing team. Ensures adherence to customer methods, frameworks, life cycles and processes.

Required Skill Set:
Up to five years previous experience in a PMO office or approximately 3 years as PMO Manager, working with projects between $10m to $50m (T&M) with overall responsibility for a medium/large PMO or PMO Team. The candidate should be capable of leading the PMO for a major project or program with responsibility for strategy, documentation and ensuring that all project work gets discharged appropriately within a larger major program. Candidates will have been responsible for setting up or relaunching or been a major influencer in a new PMO or in relaunch PMO activities.

The candidate should already be an experienced IT professional who also has several years of experience in planning and scheduling large and complex software development and/or integration and infrastructure projects using advanced Earned Value techniques, ideally using Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) technology and MSP Server.
Complete familiarity with formal software development project life cycle, processes, methodologies and quality systems, and hands-on project management experience expected
PMP qualified &/or PMI Scheduling Certification preferred
Commercial background with financial experience.
Natural Resources domain knowledge, an advantage, specifically (coal) mining.
Degree in Computer Science, Business Computing or IT related subject
Ability to travel as required, essential
