Location The role is based in our flagship shop in Oxford, and extends to events and marketing support for all of our shops in Oxford. The Role We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated candidate with the drive to ensure this role is a success. This candidate will thrive on the ever-present challenge of driving footfall and ensuring that the bookshop has an enviable reputation for interesting and innovative events. You will embrace the concept of enhancing the bookshop’s reputation as being ‘more than just a bookshop’ and will be part of a team dedicated to taking a creative and dynamic approach to what else we should be offering our customers. Main duties There are three main areas that the role involves: · Assisting in the management of the immediate and medium-term events progamme including liaison with publishers and a variety of institutions, stock management, and undertaking effective publicity. · Local marketing responsibilities which help to promote the bookshop · Helping to strengthen and establish mutually beneficial third party relationships Skills/experience · Exemplary standards of organisation, reliability and attention to detail A range of commercial skills that will have a positive impact on sales Energy and a positive ‘can do’ attitude An understanding of our customers and our market A flair for creativity and risk-taking
