Job Summary:
This position reports to the VP, E-Commerce and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of email marketing including: creation and development; analytics and reporting; campaign management and sales forecasting; testing and optimization; and acquisition and file management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Coordinate email production processes with all relevant parties to ensure all email elements are accurate and relevant.
· Manage the email calendar to ensure all requests are created, updated, and scheduled.
· Serve as the liaison to Web Merchandising, Creative and Web Designers to assist in product selection and creative design and ensure that all emails adhere to branding guidelines.
· Direct email service provider on day-to-day execution of email marketing initiatives including regular communication and feedback on maintenance and hygiene of databases, on-going use of email application software, and ad hoc projects as assigned.
· Conduct quality check tests to ensure links, images, subject lines, and lists function properly.
· Conduct extensive testing and analysis of email marketing efforts including delivery time, creative layout, promotional offers, subject line testing, and segmentation performance to develop best practices for ongoing email campaigns.
· Monitor deliverability and overall account reputation to ensure messages are being delivered to the inbox.
· Stay current with email best practices on CAN-SPAM, deliverability and data hygiene.
· Evaluate new email approaches, competitive benchmarking, best practices, new technology, and vendor capabilities to identify opportunities to improve email relevance, customer engagement, and sales.
· Manage file of marketable email addresses. Develop acquisition and segmentation strategies to optimize email performance.
· Prepare weekly and monthly reports, including circulation data, budget projections and sales results.
Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· B.S. or B.A. Business, Marketing or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in Internet marketing with a minimum of 3 years in a similar email marketing role.
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· Ability to create email content with a compelling value proposition.
· Proficient in the mechanics of email creation.
· Experience working with Email Service Providers.
· PC Skills - Microsoft Office - all applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, Database experience is a plus.
· Strong analytical skills, including experience using analytics software (e.g. Coremetrics, Google Analytics, Omniture, etc.).
· HTML experience is a plus.
· Excellent reasoning and problem solving skills.
· High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
· Excellent team player with strong project management skills.
