Accountants in demand

The need for qualified accountants has remained solid
Accounting roles are still in demand despite the financial crisis, according to finance recruiter Robert Half.

The company’s twice-annual review of the job market in the City of London found that the need for qualified accountants has remained solid as their skill sets are indispensable.

The review also found the greatest demand is for financial, management and regulatory accountants and financial controllers.

Meanwhile, the recruitment process is tougher than before as most positions require an extra layer of approval to ensure City firms hire the right candidate.
