Climate change jobs

10 million jobs may be lost because of the world economic crisis
While many jobs may be at risk because of the global financial crisis, climate change could create millions of jobs if enough funding is available, according to the United Nations (UN).

UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon says that 10 million jobs may be lost because of the world economic crisis. However, he adds that taking action to adapt to climate change may lead to renewed growth.

Meanwhile, Oxfam spokesman Dan Timms says the organisation is implementing climate change adaptation projects, which will maintain existing low-energy occupations or create new jobs.
